Temporal Coordination and Markedness in Moenat Ladin Consonant Clusters

چکیده

In this paper we examine the phonotactics of consonant clusters in Moenat Ladin terms their markedness and temporal coordination. word-initial include sibilant-stop (SC), stop-/r/ (Cr), stop-/l/ (Cl), sibilant-stop-/r/ (SCr). However, despite SC Cl sequences being well-formed Moenat, sibilant-stop-/l/ (SCl) are almost entirely unattested. We hypothesize that rarity SCl owes to a cumulative effect arises from combination marked structures involved sequences. Our investigation centers chiefly on status Ladin, for which sibilant is organized external syllable onset. This hypothesis supported by an acoustic study coordination employing methodology Ruthan et al. (2019) Durvasula (2021). propose formal account Harmonic Grammar (Legendre 1990) such exceed threshold contrast permissible clusters. employ model phonotactically non-permissible cluster modeled as selection null parse (e.g. Albright 2008, 2012, Breiss & 2022).

Intrinsic and Prosodic Effects on Articulatory Coordination in Initial Consonant Clusters

EMA was used to study the coordination of the articulatory gestures for C1 and C2 in onset clusters, firstly as a function of the segmental make-up of the clusters, and secondly as a function of stress and prosodic boundary conditions. The segmental results, which compared German and French, indicated a much lower degree of overlap of C1 and C2 for C2=/n/ compared to C2=/l/ (with C1=/p, b, k, g...

Phoneme Classification Using Temporal Tracking of Speech Clusters in Spectro-temporal Domain

This article presents a new feature extraction technique based on the temporal tracking of clusters in spectro-temporal features space. In the proposed method, auditory cortical outputs were clustered. The attributes of speech clusters were extracted as secondary features. However, the shape and position of speech clusters change during the time. The clusters temporally tracked and temporal tra...
